Leadership program

Our leadership program is designed to teach teens the necessary skills for a future job at camp or elsewhere. The program is designed to improve interpersonal and communication skills while building independence, confidence, and self awareness. 

The leadership program has two levels. The Junior Assistant Counselor in Training (JACIT) program is for campers aged 14 - 16 and lasts one week. The Counselor in Training (CIT) Program is a 3 week program for campers aged 15 - 16. 

The program includes:

• Training in basic child development and behavior management
• Communication and Leadership training
• Service projects and team-building activities
• Special "adventures" and activities exclusive to the leadership team

Program Requirements

• Submit a Camper Application and a Leadership Application
• Arrive 1 day early for leadership training (required for CITs, optional for JACITs)
• Positive role model for younger campers
• Participate enthusiastically in camp activities

JACIT

Junior Assistant COUNSELOR IN TRAINING

• 14 - 16 years old​​
• 1 week program
• Positive role model for younger campers
• Kitchen Prep (KP) duties
• Help teach songs and team cheers​

CIT

Counselor in Training

• 15 - 16 years old
• 3 week program
• Must have completed the JACIT program
• Lead songs and chants
• Help plan and lead (JA)CIT night
