Summer 2022 COVID 19

Last Updated: April 2, 2022
As we continue to plan for summer 2022, we are consistently looking at our Covid-19 protocols and guidelines and making adjustments where necessary. We are monitoring the guidance and recommendations from the CDC, American Camp Association, and the Oregon Department of Health as we make decisions to ensure the health and safety of our campers and staff.

What is the vaccinations policy for summer camp 2022?
All campers, staff, and volunteers will be required to be up to date with their Covid-19 vaccination shots in order to attend camp. Being up to date means that you have received the full dosage of the vaccination plus the booster, if eligible. Vaccinations cards must be uploaded to the camper's health profile in CampDoc before arriving at camp or proof of vaccination must be shown upon arrival.

Will masks be required at camp?
At this time, we are considering limited mask requirements at camp. Times your camper might be required to wear a mask would be on check-in day, if they begin showing symptoms of Covid-19, if they were exposed to Covid-19, or if they are entering a large indoor gathering. We will continue monitoring the guidance on mask-wearing and will consider the Covid risks in Umatilla county as we get closer to camp.

What other precautions will be in place?
  • Everyone on site during camp will be required to be fully vaccinated.
  • The majority of activities will be conducted outside. Activities that cannot be conducted outside will be held in well-ventilated rooms with the windows open.
  • High-touch areas will be disinfected regularly
  • Campers or staff who begin exhibiting symptoms will take a Covid 19 test at the infirmary. If a camper tests positive their parent/guardian will be asked to pick them up. The camper will remain in isolation in the infirmary until their family picks them up.  Staff members who test positive will isolate for 5 days.
  • If there is a positive Covid case within the camp, parents/guardians will be notified by a staff member via email as soon as possible. There will be a plan on how to proceed based on the current guidelines in place (e.g., whether or not quarantines and additional testing are necessary)
