Health
and Safety Coordinator
Minimum
Qualifications:
- EMT
B, EMT I or EMT P, Registered Nurse. (A copy of certification
must be enclosed.)
- Prefer
experience with special needs children, camping experience
and must participate in activities when required.
- The
Health and Safety Coordinator must live in housing provided
by I.R.R.R., Inc. during the camp session at the Meadowood
Springs Speech and Hearing Camp.
Responsibilities:
The
individual who fills this position will become an employee
of I.R.R.R., Inc. sponsors of Meadowood Springs Speech and
Hearing Camp. He/She shall be responsible to their direct
supervisors and the Board of Directors of I.R.R.R., Inc. It
shall be understood that the employee has a duty to see that
the policies of I.R.R.R., Inc. are maintained as they relate
to the employee’s area of responsibility.
- In
charge of Health Camp management, maintenance and operation
of dispensary, including ordering of supplies.
- Conduct
first aid in-service training for staff during training
week, including prevention of accidents, illnesses and hygiene.
- Place
and maintain first aid kits in camp.
- Assist
physician with first day health screening exams.
- Inform
staff of any pertinent health information on campers.
- Dispense
daily medications as prescribed and staff health observations.
- Maintain
accurate and complete health records, including health screening,
health histories, record of accidents, first aid medical
treatment of everyone at camp.
- Keep
daily medical log in a bound book which has printed page
numbers and lined pages.
- Award
clean cabin award daily.
- At
close of camp, inventory all infirmary and first aid kit
supplies, prepare list of needed supplies and make recommendations
for changes and improvements.
These
are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be
reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
This
