Head Cook

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  2. Must be able to handle large amounts of food preparations, serving, inventory, cleaning, ordering food and supplies.
  3. Meet State Board of Health requirements.
  4. Very experienced in cooking for large groups, kitchen supervision, menu planning, nutrition and USDA requirements.
  5. Possess a valid food handler card (enclose copy).
  6. The Head Cook must live in housing provided by I.R.R.R., Inc. during the camp session at the Meadowood Springs Speech and Hearing Camp.

Responsibilities:

The individual who fills this position will become an employee of I.R.R.R., Inc. sponsors of Meadowood Springs Speech and Hearing Camp. He/She shall be responsible to their direct supervisors and the Board of Directors of I.R.R.R., Inc. It shall be understood that the employee has a duty to see that the policies of I.R.R.R., Inc. are maintained as they relate to the employee’s area of responsibility.

  1. Responsible for scheduling and supervising kitchen staff, including cleaning of dining hall and kitchen area.
  2. Responsible for ordering food and supplies.
  3. Responsible for planning a two-week menu.
  4. Keep a written inventory of used and on-hand supplies.
  5. Oversee food storage, preparation and clean up.
  6. Wear appropriate uniform for kitchen work, must be approved by Camp Staff Manager.
  7. Responsible for inventory of kitchen supplies at the conclusion of camp, including food, utensils, pots, pans, silverware, trays, glasses, coffee mugs, etc.

These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
