Aquatics
Minimum
Qualifications:
- Hold
a current Red Cross Water Safety Instruction Certification
(W.S.I.) and Lifeguard Training Certificate (copy should
be enclosed).
- Previous
experience in operating and maintaining a pool.
- Knowledge
of pool chemicals, pool hygiene and pool safety.
- Knowledge
of boating/canoeing and fishing.
- Experience
with special needs children.
- Good
character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, creativity,
maturity, good judgment, knowledge of behavioral management
and a strong sense of responsibility.
- The
Aquatics staff must live in housing
provided by I.R.R.R., Inc. during
the camp session at the Meadowood
Springs Speech
and Hearing Camp.
Responsibilities:
The
individual who fills this position
will become an employee
of I.R.R.R., Inc. sponsors of Meadowood
Springs Speech and Hearing
Camp. He/She shall be responsible
to their direct
supervisors and the Board of Directors
of I.R.R.R., Inc. It shall
be understood that the employee
has a duty to see that
the policies of I.R.R.R., Inc.
are maintained as they relate
to the employee’s area of responsibility.
- Communicate
with and assist Activities Coordinator in all phases of
the activity program as it relates to aquatics.
- Responsible
for both lake and pool area;
including pool hygiene, and pool
safety.
- Instruct
and enforce safety regulations; instruction will include
required safety equipment and emergency procedures.
- Pool
upkeep, maintain pool records and keep pool area safe and
clean, including the bath house.
- Responsible
for cleaning and maintaining all equipment in a safe and
working order and to keep the surrounding area clean.
- Enforce
storage of equipment daily,
including
installation of pool cover
at the conclusion of each day’s
activities.
- Accept
full responsibility of water front and pool areas.
- Organize
and supervise instructional and recreational functions for
water craft programs.
- Organize,
supervise and conduct a water carnival.
These
are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be
reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
This
